About Lichen Planus at Jeff Alexander M.D. Dermatology
Lichen Planus is a skin condition that causes small bumps to form on the skin. This disease can appear on any part of the body, and sometimes manifests on the sides of the tongue, gums or inner cheeks. The bumps often appear in clusters, which may grow in size if left untreated. The disease is non-cancerous and will often fade after 18 months if left untreated, although this could potentially come and go for years. This type of skin condition affects every patient differently, so Dr. Alexander and Skin Care Institute’s plan of treatment will include an array of options to help clear up your specific case in a safe and time sensitive manner.
